Spartans kick start the Isolation NHS Marathon

Players from Gay and Inclusive Rugby Club, The Manchester Village Spartans RUFC kicked off Manchester’s mamoth ‘Isolation NHS Marathon’ this morning in a live-stream hosted by drag queen, Misty Chance.

The Spartans’ Union and O2 Touch players dialled in from 5 different locations across Manchester to excercise under the instruction of one of their personal trainers, Rory, from Results Inc Gym

The marathon fundraising session, which is set to bring Manchester Gay Village together online for 13hrs, launched with a personal greeting live from Canal Street from John Hamilton, owner of Bar Pop and organiser of the event with Holy T Europe.

269 viewers tuned in to watch the lads train whilst Misty chatted to the Spartans and encouraged people to donate online.  Eagle-eyed viewers will have seen our recruitment officer, Glyn join in from the hammock behind our 1st Team Captain Simon and our Club Chair, Gareth.    Meanwhile, the comments came in thick and fast during the live-feed and it quickly became clear a lot of viewers wanted to see more of Rory and Christian particularly.

Keep watching the Isolation NHS Marathon online at the Gay Village Manchester Facebook Page here and don’t forget to donate online at their Just Giving page here raising money for front-line NHS staff and careworkers.
