HOW TO FIND US
OUR HOME GROUND IS SALE SPORTS CLUB
Sale Sports Club
Clarendon Crescent (Off Dane Road)
GETTING TO US BY CAR:
From Manchester city centre head west towards Altrincham using the A56 Stretford road for 5.5miles. When you see / reach TGI Friday’s in Sale (its on the right hand side of the road). BEGIN TO TAKE the left filter lane into Dane Road (B5397). Turn left into Dane road.
Continue on down Dane Road for 3/4 mile until you see the Tennis courts on the right hand side. 50m further on turn right into Clarendon Crescent, then turn right into the Club’s Car Park, where you can park on site.
Sale Sports club is the brand new, modern building slightly hidden by new houses on the corner of Dane road and Clarendon Crescent junction. Our rugby club is part of Sale Sports club.
The rugby club changing rooms are located on the ground floor of the modern clubhouse, accessed through the front door on the right hand side of the main club house. The rugby pitches are behind the houses on the opposite side of the road to the the front of the club. Look for the tall tree on the corner of the junction and walk down the pathway behind that which leads to the pitches.
If the club car park is full, please do NOT park on Clarendon Crescent but instead park on Dane Road or on Priory Woods Lane (the wooded lane almost opposite the Car Park exit)
GETTING TO US BY METROLINK
The nearest Metrolink Tramstop is DANE ROAD which is about a 7 minute walk down Dane Road from the Clubhouse. Walking from the tram stop, down Dane Road, keep a look out for the Tennis Courts and Clubhouse which you’ll see on the Right-hand-side of the road. Turn right onto Clarendon Crescent and then you will see the Clubhouse a couple of metres down Clarendon Crescent on your Right-hand-side.
NEW MEMBERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO LIFT-SHARE AND CAN BE ADDED TO CLOSED CHAT GROUPS ON FACEBOOK TO MAKE THIS EASIER TO DO SO.
WINTER UNION TRAINING AT MCR ENTERPRISE ACADEMY
When the clocks go back, we will mix training at Sale Sports Club with training at the 4G pitches at Manchester Enterprise Academy, Wythenshawe.
Manchester Enterprise Academy
There is a Metrolink close by at Wytheshawe Town Centre (about 5mins walk away).
New players should look for the Spartans as they assemble at the meeting point shown below (near the changing rooms in the Left hand-side car park) or head straight up to the main 4g pitch also shown on the map below in green.
AUTUMN O2 TOUCH TRAINING AT WRIGHT ROBINSON
With the weather and floodlighting affecting the ability to train easily on the grass pitches at Sale Sports Club over the winter, O2 Touch training often relocates to Wright Robinson College in East Manchester for a few months in Autumn.
We will announce clearly on our Facebook page when this change happens. In readiness for any such move these are the location details for the College.
Wright Robinson College
Abbey Hey Lane
If you can’t get a lift-share from one of the other Spartan O2 Touch Players or don’t drive, follow this link for Moovit transport suggestions. It’s a 13min walk from Gorton Train Station to the College and roughly the same time to walk from Hyde Road and one of the many bus journeys along that route. We advise players or prospective members not to travel alone to the college if they’re unfamiliar with the area.
On arrival at the college, new players should look for Spartans as they assemble at the main gate to the left side at the front of the College before training begins on one of the floodlit pitches behind the main college building.
