That's a better result than the last time we played Warrington when the score was 55 - 3 to them, but then this time they did not have their first or second team players to help them out.

After arriving at the club finding that Salians have a home game, I needed to get the keys so we could use the cricket pavilion to change in, then sort out the chilli that Christine had left for us. Sort out the water bottles, the kit, first aid and the flags and post protectors.

We had one of the best teams out again and it did show.

From the Kick off we hit hard and attacked Warrington it was the first game back after the rest and it did show a little, but we took control of the game.

The team played well as a unit with for the most part, good communication and support from the loudest voice on the park was that of Lee's who was calling for all game, watching the opposition then looking for cover, well-done Lee.

Great defensive from John Bullock with some superb hits and covering in the first half.

Gary scored his first club try with a great individual run from just inside the Warrington half. That's team jug Gary.

Warrington had a great move planned. They would lull our own captain to pass them the ball and run mostly the full length of the field to score a try.

Later in the game The Warrington big centre got the ball again and only had Geordie to beat, the big centre tried to run Geordie over and push him out of the way, Goodie nailed him with what can only be described as a text book tackle picking him up and dumping the big lad into the ground shouting something about that's how you tackle.

Fishy's try came from a driving (15 metre) maul which the visitors tried every way to stop. This was a good set piece drill that had been practiced in many sessions and was text book in its delivery.

Adie's was just pure Adie, driving over and pushing everyone out of the way for a nice try under the posts.

Brett's try, well what can you say but about time too, as he reached from what seemed to be about 20 meters out placing the ball over the line.

Well now to Sarge's try, one of the oldest on the park and faking a pass to Chris S at the back of a maul and sending the whole of the Warrington defence the wrong way and crossing the line in his normal youthful fashion.

The whole team needs to be thanked on a good team performance which can be attributed to Fishy who has help and put a lot of work into the team coaching over the past few months, thank you.

Our flying trolley dolly Nathan along with Neil played their usual stalwart fashion. Fishy in the line out trying to flag down a passing plane for Nathan as he was being lifted so high put the Warrington line in a lot of pressure. Chris S Chasing their poor wee scrum half about and on one occasion landing on the poor wee thing too. Dave B had a strong game on the wing with some good runs and defensive play.

The whole team played well and would aging take a long time to talk about everyone in turn so hope that you will forgive me and accept my thanks.

Just say that the team did not all have the fun. We on the side lines had our own entertainment in the shape of Bob who decided to re-enact the winning dive from last summers Olympics while running the touch, with a triple forward summersault, landing in the only muddy puddle on the side lines, this was marked by a 5.2, 5.6, 5.3, 5.7, 5.4 and a perfect 6 from a man walking his dog.

This Wednesday we have Phil Leck taking the session so can we have everyone out on time 7 pm prompt start please.

Tries from Nathan, Neil, Fishy, and Dave B, Lee. and 3 conversion from Matt W. Sorry Matt but the club will have to get you some new boots as the ones that you have don't work that well.

The game stated strongly in out favour with great running and attacks from all the players.

The ref had to be on his best behaviour as he was being assessed by an old friend Andy Scott who was the appointments sec for the Manchester society and at one point a few years back I had to inform him that I could not ref any games as Elaine had burnt my boots. A point he still talks about with other refs.

Congleton attacked our line at every opportunity to be meet by a solid defensive wall. We looked good in attack and showed our strength going forward.

A good note again was the level of communication that when in defence players call and reacting to closing the defence to meet the Congleton attacks but also when in attack.

Bob did a great job running the touch but sadly he had his boots so no repeat of the winning dive.

Chris S caught the ball straight from a Congleton restart made a drive at their advancing line breaking through several tackles, the ball was recycled quickly and passes down the line then Nathan finished by crossing the line this all takes only a few seconds, leaving Congleton wondering what they had too do.

Fishy try again came from a driving maul, Fishy and Neil dominated in the line out with great from Chris S cleaning up at the front. It was a hard work from all the forwards Steve Chris S in the second row who did a great job, Simon Nathan and Chris C in the front row and Fishy, Adie, Neil in the back row.

Good work in the backs gave Dave B his first club try that's a all the newer players of the club scoring this season that's 4 Jugs to drunk will leave that to Brett to make sure that they are bought and drunk, we also seen Lee in for his second this season all Lee could say was I hope Stacey was watching. Gary had strong game as he again proved difficult to stop.

Special thanks to John B who could not see the team struggle and by half time was changed into his kit ready for action, this emphasises the clubs stronger team commitment.

Dave P stepped in and covered full back role, he was at one point seen to be holding back the entire Congleton team at one ruck.

Just after the start of the second half the Spartans introduced the power house Big Dave Daddy S and in his first scrum sent the opposite front row up flying this is now not allowed, but it too a lot of restraint to stop Nathan Trolley Dollying down the props back he was that high.

Then in a great red call, from a scrum on the Congleton 5 meter line, the scrum set it drove forward as a well organised machine to secure a nice push over try.

Congleton worked hard all afternoon driving and running hard this hard work played off with a well deserved try.

The fire was taken out of the Spartans game when the scrums went unopposed this stopped out forward drive and ability to keep the opposition on the back foot.

Line out did work well again with Fishy and Neil taking the ball but we need to work on the area of opposition low ball Chris S did a covering this area.

That now 3 wins in a row and the team confidence is growing.
