Important Club Notice: Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Coronavirus (COVID-19)

COVID-19 is a new illness that can affect your lungs and airways. It’s caused by a virus called coronavirus.

With two fixtures this weekend and players in close proximity to one-another at training each week, we would like to assure everyone that the club is committed to keeping right up to date with government, NHS and England Rugby advice relating to the virus.

Currently there is no recommendation for the cancellation or postponement of events in the United Kingdom by Public Health England. We will continue to monitor the situation and update information based on the latest government advice.

We are prepared to act swiftly to rearrange or cancel fixtures or gatherings, even at very short notice, and will do our best to communicate any such action as widely and quickly as possible via our social media and other channels.

IMPORTANT

If you are a player or club volunteer and have, or think you may have, coronavirus or have recently been in contact with someone who has, please let your Captain or a Spartan Director know that you will be absent from the game, training or event at the earliest opportunity.

Please stay at home if you or someone you live with has coronavirus symptoms or you have recently been in contact with someone who has.

Stay at home for 7 days if you have either:

– a high temperature
– a new, continuous cough

Do not go to a GP surgery, pharmacy or hospital.

You do not need to contact 111 to tell them you’re staying at home.

Use the NHS 111 online coronavirus service if:

– you feel you cannot cope with your symptoms at home
– your condition gets worse
– your symptoms do not get better after 7 days

Only call 111 if you cannot get help online.

The RFU’s advice is that clubs use government and Public Health England’s guidance to inform their knowledge.
