This is an incredible opportunity for sports people who’d like to stand up and strip off in support of greater diversity and inclusion in sport, to be a part of this year’s photoshoot for the global calendar phenomenom that is the Worldwide Roar (naked) Calendar.
Sold in over 80 countries, the hugely popular, award-winning charity-funding calendar (which started life as the Warwick Rowers’ Calendar) helps fund the Sport Allies charity, which invests in academic research and develops major campaigns that promote greater understanding and social cohesion between the LGBT+ and straight sporting communities whilst challenging toxic masculinity.
Our players found last year’s shoot to be empowering, liberating, a self-confidence boost and a great ‘team-building’ moment, a great laugh and fun way to support a good cause.
This year, WR would love to invite players and straight allies of the LGBT+ community from other Rugby Union and Touch Rugby clubs – alongside players or whole squads from not only the inclusive rugby community but also inclusive sports clubs around the northwest. All sports standing up for sports for all.
Let’s stand up and strip off for greater diversity and inclusion in sport together.
*Shooting on Sunday August 21st in the Greater Manchester area, (exact location tbc) you need to be over 18yrs old and willing to appear full-frontal in photographs and accompanying video content. Other professional guest sporting stars have been invited to participate. If you can be in Manchester City Centre on the morning on the shoot, we’ll get you to the location.
NOTE: The standard, main calendar obscures peoples bits but you may appear full-frontal in susbcriber digital materials or special, limited editions of the calendar.
Everyone is treated with respect, sensitivity and the shoot is art-directed by Angus Malcolm and his professional, London-based creative team. The experienced WR models put newcommers at ease and it’s a priority that all participants have an enjoyable day (including lunch provided).
WR also provide advice on how to manage your own personal social media accounts prior to the shoot – PLUS it can do wonders for your club’s social media accounts and provide plenty of positive PR coverage if your club consents to being referenced.
If you’d like to apply to take part, please complete the short contact form below today. The WR team will then be in touch within the week to arrange an introductory Zoom induction and Q&A.
